Neither the sire or Grandsires of this magnificent foal need much introduction! This is a colt whose breeding is as outstanding as his obvious quality and he represents a rare opportunity for a discerning buyer looking for a genuine 5* prospect for the future.
This colt simply oozes class and superiority in every aspect of his being. He is very beautiful, an extraordinary presence, superior movement and is undeniably a natural athlete in every sense of the word. He has an exceptional temperament, a kind nature and an intelligent, willing attitude. He has been professionally handled from birth and as such he is easy to do in all situations, trusting and accepting.
His sire Conthalou made an ideal start as a sire with a magnificent first crop of foals, producing the top price of the Oldenburg auction in Vechta, Connery, who was sold for 33,000 Euros. For his outstanding offspring, he was named the main premium winner at the Oldenburg Stallion Days.
After his acclaimed victory at the licensing of the Oldenburg Show Jumping Breeding Association (OS), Conthalou completed his 50-day test in Adelheidsdorf with expected highlights for his jumping manner (9.0), scope (9.0), willingness to perform (9.5), rideability (9.0), temperament (9.25) and overall impression (9.0). With a total score of 8.86, he was only narrowly beaten in the strong field of 35 candidates and finished as second Reserve Champion of his stallion performance test.
The dam's sire Conthargos, has produced numerous top horses, including the international competition winner Conchento PS/Luciana Diniz/POR, Easy Girl/Santiago Lambre/BRA, Connecticut/Matthew Sampson/GBR, Cocolina/Natalie Dean/USA, Cosa Nostra/Jeroen Dubbeldam/NED and Conthinder/Andrzej Oplatek/POL, to only name a few. Almost 20 of his sons have been licensed, including our OS Champion Stallion and main premium winner Conthalou PS and the internationally successful Continental Blue.
His dam Belinda is internationally successful in 1.45m show jumping competitions.
His grand-dam Chaccos-Lüd is the half sister of an OS Premium Stallion by Los Angeles and the full sister of the two premium stallions Chacco’s Son I and II (both by Chacco-Blue). Chacco's Son I was part of the winning German Nations Cup teams at the CHIO in Aachen in 2018 and 2019 with Maurice Tebbel, was part of the fifth-placed European Championships team in Gothenburg/SWE and was highly placed in the Grand Prix of Rome/ITA, Hamburg/GER and La Baule/FRA. Chacco’s Son II was the Oldenburg main premium winner in 2015, was placed in the final of the German Championships and has since been placed in international competitions. Chacco's-Lüd produced Corydon van T&L (by Cornado NRW)/Frederic Vernaet/BEL, OS Reserve Champion and successful in 1.40m show jumping competitions, and the stallion For Chacco TN (by For Pleasure), who was placed in the international Youngster Tour.
Performance stallions Balou du Rouet and Chacco-Blue appear in the previous generations and secure Conthalou’s pedigree in the best way.
Balou du Rouet, himself successful in advanced level show jumping competitions, sired Baloutinue/Laura Kraut/USA, Olympic team silver medallist, Bianca/Steve Guerdat/SUI, bronze medallist at the World and European Championships and eighth in the World Cup, Saura de Fondcombe/Nadja Peter Steiner/SUI, team third at the European Championships, as well as Corouet/Sarah Bullimore/GBR, individual bronze medallist at the European Eventing Championships. He is not only by far the most successful son of his famous sire, the Olympic champion and three-time World Cup winner Baloubet du Rouet, but also appears, once again, amongst the top 15 and top 12 of the world's best show jumping and eventing sires respectively, according to the WBFSH ranking.
Chacco-Blue was third in the Grand Prix in Aachen, won the Grand Prix in Neumünster and has led the WBFSH ranking since 2017. From a breeding perspective, the elite stallion produced Explosion W/Ben Maher/GBR, Olympic Champion, individual silver and team bronze medallist at the European Championships and Global Champions Tour winner, Chanyon/Daisuke Fukushima/JPN, placed sixth at the Olympics, Chaqui Z/Shane Sweetnam/IRL, European Team Champion, and Chacon/Eoin McMahon/IRL, placed second in the Nations Cup final, amongst others. Chacco-Blue produced the most offspring at almost all championships, for example eight at the 2018 World Equestrian Games in Tryon/USA. Around 55 of his sons have been licensed.
The licensed stallions Power Light/Alois Pollmann-Schweckhorst, Cessna, Durex and Amantino as well as the sport horses Whoopy/Jan Sprehe/GER, Mya Mercedes/Stefan Engbers/GER, Let’s Fly/Erik Kunze/GER and Baldobes/Roberto Prevital/ITA descend from this line.
OS Champion Stallion and Main Premium Winne
His dam sire is the outstanding and remarkable Diarado who is number one for the world ranking stallions for eventing and eleven for show jumping!
Diarado is one of the most popular, and highest-ranked, stallions in Germany, and he impresses with exemplary ease, a jump with superior scope, a willingness to perform that is second to none, maneuverability and intelligence; attributes that are necessary for today’s technical courses. Diarado is not only popular as a sire of show jumpers, but also as a sire of eventers; he always passes on his beautiful and correct type and conformation, which is so important for long-term soundness and durability. He was in sixth place on the 2017 BE Sire Rankings for 4-8 year-old offspring.
His sire, Diamant de Semilly topped the WBFSH Sire Rankings for the second time in 2016, having been inside the top ten since 2012. During his career, he was French national champion and WEG team gold medallist in 2002, and European team silver medallist in 2003. His offspring include Quickly Du Kreisker (FEI World Number One 2015), Don VHP Z (winner of the Rome GCT), Utamaro D’Ecaussines (member of British Nations Cup squad), Hello Guv'nor (winner Aachen 2016), and Helidor Hybris, who jumped national grand prix as a 7-year-old. Diamant de Semilly is known for his outstanding power, suppleness and balance.
His dam's combined pedigree includes Corrado I, Contender, Lord and Ramiro; four absolutely top sires in one line. Corrado I alone, internationally successful with Franke Sloothaak, has a progeny lifetime earnings sum of €3.8million, while Contender's record is at €10.3million.
His offspring are marked by their beautiful, correct conformation, with excellent rideability, strong movement and with a lot of scope; they are much sought-after at numerous auctions. To date, more than 50 sons are licensed, among them numerous premium sires including Diarado's Boy, De Quidam, Don Diarado and Dicontinus.
Her dam sire, Corland is from the famous Holsteiner Line 104A, which goes directly back to Retsina, a two-time winner of the Hamburg Derby.
Corland had an impressive career under W.J. van der Schans. At the European Championship, Corland proved to all that he belongs in the category ‘the best in the world’. In Nation’s Cup series, he won both qualifiers and had the best results of the Nation’s competition clocking the fastest clear round. In the finals, he was 9th. Additionally, there were the following results: 2nd GP Rotterdam, 4th GP’s Oslo and Den Bosch, 5th GP’s Bordeaux and Maastricht, 6th GP Helsinki, 7th GP’s Zuidlaren, La Baule and Calgary.
He also was Champion of the Benelux in The Hague, 7th in the World Cup of Verona and 2nd in ‘The Sires of the World’ in Lanaken.
Her dam was out of a Caretino Glory mare whose back pedigree is packed with the key names in jumping breeding – Cor De La Bryere, Ramiro, Gotthard. Further investigation of his pedigree goes some way to explaining why he passes on both quality and better than average movement.
His sire Cheenook was trained to Grand Prix level dressage, and was known for his flamboyant movement despite his Holstein jumping pedigree. In Germany alone he has 56 offspring competing at S level show jumping and 16 at S level dressage. Cheenook’s full sisters produced the decent show jumpers Cocu who represented the USA at the World Equestrian Games and Carino who also competed at 5* level.
