Arla is a homebred 3 year old who has spent her life growing on with her friends in a relaxed environment here at the stud. She has been lightly but well handled, regularly wormed, trimmed and is up to date with her vaccinations.

She is happy to be bathed and tidied up with the clippers, good to have her mane pulled etc.

She is now ready for her forever home where she can start her education.

Arlas dam had a successful career eventing upto FEI 1* before being retired to stud. She was the last horse to be bred out of the infamous Stormhill stud and is closely related to several 4* horses.

Bannvalley Pride Of Midnight is known for producing quality correct stock competing in hand and under saddle at county level. With countless placings and champions at shows like The Great Yorkshire, Royal Three Counties, IDHSGB Annual Breed Show, Royal London and a top 3 Show Hunter at HOYS 2023.

We bought ‘Farmer’ directly from his breeder at weaning and he has grown up here on out farm on Exmoor National Park. He has been fully exposed to the chaos of a busy & noisy environment from day one, and as a result of both his breeding and his upbringing, he is now one of the most well-adjusted, unflappable confident horses you could wish to meet. He is kind, quiet, mannerly, trainable, biddable, and easy in every way. On top of that he is totally stunning.

He has not been pushed the way many young horses are these days, and as a result he does still have some maturing to do. He is not over topped & too heavy for his young joints, so should never suffer from early wear in his later years. Farmer is a phenomenal jumper, at his grading, he jumped down through the lines with absolute easy each time & was the only stallion not to touch a pole the entire time. The final fence being only 100 x 100cm was not big enough to even make him stretch. He can come down to 130cm loose schooling and make it look easy.

He is 100% straight moving, without any need of correction or balancing, & he has perfect limb. His movement while being absolutely correct is rarely show to its full ability as Farmer is just such a well-mannered and amenable character, he just lollops around like a pet Labrador rather than strutting his stuff & showing off, but he does have fabulous paces.

Farmer is eligible to have a 2nd Grading in the future when he is more mature and could quite easily get Class 1 next time as he was only 5 marks under this time. At the grading the Judge made it clear he was not a fan of Farmers white legs (& we can’t help but wonder if this prejudiced the scores), but we think he looks amazing! He’s just SO flashy!! Who doesn’t want a super flashy, quiet natured, easy going foal right?? We bred 3 foal by him this year, and they seriously lived up to expectations!

We had Farmer backed over the winter and he was hacked out around the busy hunting village of Exford and up over the Moors. He did around 4 weeks under saddle, all gentle work, teaching him to go forward happily and take & travel in to a contact. He’s not been asked to do circles, or jumped under saddle yet. He was then turned away to get ready for his Grading, but he would be an easy sort to tack up and get going with right away without expecting a problem.

We are sadly looking to find a new home for Farmer as we are giving up breeding. We are open to suggestions regarding full sale, or failing that we would sadly be willing to consider gelding him as he would just be the most fabulous riding horse. In our opinion he would make and absolutely top class Working Hunter or even a smart Ladies Show Horse carrying a side saddle.

We also havea broodmare available for sale, (due to us giving up breeding) in-foal to Farmer for this year. She has her own advert under Connemara's. Shes Perlino (blue eyed cream) pure bred Connemara C1 & will have a buckskin (dun) foal. This years stunning buckskin (dun) colt foal by him last year can be seen.
