- This absolutely incredible colt is an absolute dream to handle in any situation; manners to burn!
- Nelson is incredibly athletic, he has outstanding movement and great presence..
- Nelson had an accident as a very young foal and had to have an eye removed - you would not know it!
This striking looking and hugely impressive foal is not only a dream to look at, but he moves with the grace, precision and expressive gaits of a youngster who was born to impress. This little fellow has all of the moves from his big, relaxed walk, his huge flashy trot, balanced canter and the gallop of a born eventer!
Nelson is an absolute angel to handle and he has been from birth. He is gentle, affectionate, ready to please wherever he can and a really lovely personality. He is vice free, perfectly behaved for the farrier, mannerly in hand, easy to catch, groom, rug and he absolutely loves people.
Sadly, Nelson suffered an injury to his eye at a couple of months old. It was severe enough that his eye could not be saved and we had to have it removed. This operation was done with absolutely no complications and Nelson's recovery was swift. From the moment this lovely boy returned to the field and to this day forward, his limited vision has presented absolutely no reason to call it a disability. Nelson has adapted seamlessly and gallops with his friends, plays rough and tumble as well as any of the other and needs no allowances, he has found a way to navigate life as easily as any of his peers!
His dam, Sahara is by the golden palomino Grand Prix stallion Treliver Decanter (Dimaggio/Grand Ferdel). He has offspring competing PSG/Inter1, 1.40m show jumpers and CIC2*/CCI2* eventers. Decanter's sire Dimaggio competed PSG/Inter1 and produced over 30 GP horses, CCI4* eventers, and over 73 approved sons. She is out of am Elite Graded SH(GB) mare by the Saddlers Wells bred stallion Accondy and out of the GP dressage stallion World Cup.
Accondy was placed in two out of his three starts, sired numerous National Hunt winners and became a sport horse sire of importance, joining the HIS Premium scheme in 1997, when he was the reserve for the Macdonald-Buchanan Trophy for the best new young stallion. The same year he stood Champion at the British Hanoverian Horse Society grading, attracting offers from the German assessors. He became a Super Premium stallion 1n 1998 and was twice awarded the Henry Tudor Cup and he was champion Thoroughbred at the Royal Dublin in 2001.
Nelson's sire GFS Fire and Ice is a uniquely coloured warmblood AES Graded and Licensed stallion with an exceptionally interesting pedigree that combines both rare Danish Knabstrupper, the hghly prized Czech Kinsky Warmblood with top performance thoroughbred and the versatile and top temperament of the Irish Connemara. He is a lovely big stallion of unique appearance and great beauty. He has a faultless temperament and super movement. He ha been an immensely popular sire and has offspring all over the world.
GFS Fire and Ice's dam was is by the leading sire of event horses Rock King. Himself the sire of the Olympic eventer Rock Model. He also sired four competitors at the 2008 CCI **** at Luhmuhlen.
Rock King was renowned for his fantastic temperament, excellent paces and superb jumping technique. As a four year old Rock King won the Stoneways Potential Showjumper and was in the final twelve for the Young Event Horse Class. From there his career sky rocketed. Sadly, his career was tragically cut short whilst competing at Tweeseldown Horse Trials in 2000 where he sustained a fatal injury. He was at that time already Advanced, accruing over 200 BE points during his short career which would otherwise undoubtedly have seen him feature in many major horse trials. He was sired by, Just a Monarch. A stallion that has produced many superb competition stock over the years. Many of his proven progeny including the International Event Horses, Kings Jester, Just an Ace and Midnight Monarch, as well as point-to-pointer Mark Methane who has won over 30 races.
Rock Kings' dam, Rockys Double and Grand dam, Farley Mount were both prolific producers of CCI **** Eventers, including; Double Trust, Alfresco, Trust in me and Kilcashel.
Folly's Rock damsire is none other than the legendary Bohemond, HIS Premium stallion and sire of double Olympic event mare Withcote Nellie and dam sire of NZ WEG Team horse Classic Moet, who contested WEG 2014 and 2016, who was 3rd and Burghley and competed at Badminton three times, winning in 2018.
This stunning colt represents a fabulous opportunity for someone looking for a top competition prospect without the big budget! There are many top horses who have reached the top despite having the vision in only one eye!
I can guarantee this youngster will go far, he has the heart and soul of a warrior as well as the attitude and ability to go a very long way. His charm will enchant anyone he meets and his looks will make him stand out anywhere. He should not be discounted as a serious competitive prospect but would equally make a sensational ridden horse for any level of rider and will thrive as long as he is loved and given the attention that he both deserves and relishes! He is offered at a fraction of his worth and I have no doubt that this beautiful soul is going to make somebody their horse of a lifetime.
