Dream First Pony – 11.2hh Welsh A Schoolmistress

Lead Rein to First Ridden – Safe, Smart & Show Ready

Highland Joanna (JoJo) is a 12-year-old strawberry roan Welsh Section A mare standing at 11.2hh – a true Schoolmistress and every child’s dream first pony.

JoJo has taken children from lead rein to confidently cantering off the lead. She is kind, clever, and completely reliable – always adjusting to suit her rider’s age and experience. She gives little jockeys confidence without ever being boring or sharp.

JoJo's Highlights:

Lead rein & first ridden superstar
Hacks alone or in company - Seen all types of traffic, bikes, dogs, runners – nothing phases her.
Rides out with bigger horses – not phased in the slightest
Forward-going, fun, but never strong or spooky, not a plod – responsive yet safe
Loves to show – always in the ribbons
Previously competed at high level in M&M Lead Rein, including winning at Kent County and placing 1st out of 18 in the 2018 NPS M&M Lead Rein

Would do a lovely dressage test – beautifully balanced and willing

Easy to catch and tack up – even by children under 9

Turns out with mares or geldings

Can be turned away for weeks and comes back exactly the same

Travels well and stands quietly on the trailer alone

Baths, clips, loads, behaves impeccably

Fun rides, local shows – nothing phases her

Great with children on the ground and under saddle – she totally looks after them

Up to date with vaccinations and farrier

Unshod and has excellent feet

We’re looking for a new home for JoJo as our children are now keen to do more jumping, which isn’t something she enjoys. Jumping is simply not her thing, and she would suit a home looking for a safe, fun lead rein or first ridden pony without the pressure to jump.

JoJo is truly a dream pony. She will teach your children to ride and to have the confidence to go on to their next chapter. She’s gentle, safe, and full of personality – the type of pony every child deserves to start on.

A rare opportunity to buy a true child’s Schoolmistress. Worth her weight in gold. Top home is priority. No loans or trials.

Previous owners are happy to provide a reference.

Only available to a 5 Star home where she’ll be loved and appreciated like she is here.

Located in Horsham - 07944 743693

Photos and videos available on request

Ronny loves X country , bold and brave to jump and steady -jumps on and off banks, ditches , in water etc.. stands while you get on , he is a true Schoolmaster.

He rides nice and light in the school and never gets strong and you can put a lot of leg on him , he just wants to please.

You can ride Ronny bare back , the kids jump on and of him all the time in the stable , such a fun cob.. jumps show jumps well and very honest.

Willow has been part of the family since she arrived as a yearling. It has been an absolute pleasure to have her around for the past 6 years as our girls grew up with her.

She is a Dream pony and for all her ability she has a fantastic temperament - is easygoing in every way - she will assist a rider in every way possible and bring them on safely and carefully. The definition of an Allrounder Willow is talented, gentle and has a heart of gold.

Jumping 90 and 1m with ease at the moment and has often gone considerably higher on the hunting field.

Willow is measured at138 for this year, she stands approx. 143.

Willows early years were spent at Pony Club and in the Hunting Field - which she loves! She started showjumping less than a year ago and has aprox. 70 SJI ponts to date. She has competed in Hunter trials, 2 phase eventing and Working Hunter.

She is extremely easy to do in every way and has never had any health issues. She has a soft snaffle mouth and is never strong. She loves to go for a hack on her own or with others and is quiet and safe in traffic.

Willow will happily stand and lap up endless grooming and fussing, she is easy to shoe, clip, box, catch and load. She has no stable vices and will happily live in or out.

Willows breeding is unrecorded but known to be by a Connemara Sire and out of a thoroughbred mare.

A dream pony direct from home and fully guaranteed.

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE OR PONY SUITABLE FOR THE RDA?

WANTED ON LONG TERM LOAN / PURCHASE

Ref #: 249896
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.

Dizzy Rascal is one of the most consistent top track 138s; who has won or been in the ribbons at all the top shows in the UK and internationally. Won 2 of the 4 of the Hickstead Qualifiers jumped to qualify for Royal International 2025; has placed or won in all the top shows consistently through her career.

She is a lovely competition pony with all the scope and speed to compete and win. She loves a jump off and is a rare find in that she is a proper child's top-track competition pony. She does not need an adult to keep her straight to jump at the top of her game and yet at home she is easy; quiet in the stable, good to travel; not remotely spooky to hack, not mare-ish and good at stay aways. She is kind; not sharp or strong; will drop down and teach a child the ropes, and then step back up.

Successes include:

- 2025 RIHS Final Qualified (Won at both Arena UK and Morris)
- 2024 and 2022 HOYS Finals
- 2021 HOYS 138 Final 1st 1.25m
- 2021 RIHS Hickstead 2nd 1.25m

Gorgeous 13.3hh 2011 liver Chesnut gelding. This lovely little gelding is the perfect allrounder, he’s quiet enough to work in a riding school, teach people the ropes but also talented enough to go showjumping tomorrow.

If you’re nervous he will certainly look after you, and if you want to kick in and have fun he will go up the gears. Finn has three steady, comfortable and balanced paces on the flat, he will work nicely and has done several dressage tests, but he is equally happy going around on the buckle.

He enjoys jumping, XC and showjumping he has plenty of experience with, he’s always been a low level / fun pony so is used to going out and about. He will jump from a trot or canter and gives his rider plenty of confidence, he’s only for sale as his current teenage jockey has sadly outgrown him.

He’s a great hack, good to go solo or with friends and good in traffic. Sweet chap on the ground, easy to have around. Open to any vet or trainer

Trial period available

Dj really is 1 in a million pony. Ideally we would like him to go to a pony club home as this is where we feel he will really excel.

He has the kindest soul inside and outside of his stable and will always give 110% to his rider.

Dj is the perfect allrounder / pony club / schoolmaster pony. His attitude and kindness is something money can’t buy.

He loves showjumping and is great against the clock (not a novice ride as can get exited when jumping). He’s a super brave pony out xc and loves the water and will always try his hardest to help his rider out and go off the dodgy strides.

Dj is not the spooky type and will hack with or without company being totally unfazed by all traffic.

He is only for sale due to being outgrown and rider moving onto horses. If I were being selfish I would keep him just for fun but he has so much to give a new little rider.

SOLD WITH GRAHAM HEATH 2025 QUALIFICATION

Dona is well known on the circuit and I would prefer to sell to someone who isnt going to insist on multiple viewings. She needs to build trust over a period of time with her new jockey.

Previous Belgium national champion.

In the UK she has previously been the Silver League champion and was ready to step up to Gold League but then moved on to Belgium.

Since she's been with us she has gained her 2 winter clears which has qualified her for the HOYS second rounds whilst my daughter was just 8.

At Arena UK she won the Graham Heath (HOYS warm up class) against the best of the best in the country.

She is currently a super competitive bronze/silver league pony. If you want to win, Dona is your pony.

Won 128cm Silver League (S/E) 2021/22
Qualified Stepping Stones, Cats and Pipes, 11 and unders, Handicap Special, HOYS second rounds and Graham Heath 2025.

Incredible competition pony, loves her job, very fast in a jump off.

Best suited to a competitive jockey wanting to compete at BS silver/gold league as not a 1st BS pony. Possibly best suited to a potential gold league rider without the gold league budget as she has all the qualities for the top with the right jockey.

Excellent to shoe, clip, teeth, travel/load etc. Easy to keep.

Only for sale as her rider is now focusing on showing and this is a jumping pony through and through.

Needle In A Haystack - Super Cob

  • Loves to jump

So proud to introduce this chap , quite simply none other than a total needle in a haystack find - 14.2HH, 15yo, cob gelding … meet ‘Tizer’!

Same hole for 14 years , full history known and never a day sick or sorry!

Easy to do everything with on the ground. Stands rock solid to be clipped , bathed , farrier etc! Perfect to catch, he comes to call and is first at the gate. Turns out alone or in mixed herds etc , he’s really very easy. Perfect to load and travel, live in or out … there’s so much I could say about him! If I was being over critical I’d say he’s grumpy in the stable. Nothing major , just face pulling , out of the stable - totally different horse

Tizer has done everything from teaching novices to collecting ribbons. Hunted , shown , dressage , plenty of show jumping and hunter trials, field mastered for four years, hunt scurried , fun rides , beach rides , lead horse for breakers , plenty of hacking mileage, riding club, lessons , clinics …… I’m sure you get the idea, you name it, he will have done it.

Snaffle mouthed in the arena at home. Leg in each corner type. Would take novices , used him here to give lesson on to children. He can be ridden around like he should be in a riding school. Equally, you can stick your leg on and pull him together to get a lovely piece of work from him. He very much adapts to the rider.

Tizer loves his jumping!! Bold and brave and never says no. Happy to trot around the cross pole class or go and jump the meter. He’s had ribbons from 50cm to 110cm - a point and kick kind of chap

Cross country , hunting, funrides etc he absolutely loves!! Can be more forward outside of the arena however still the same sane and kind lad, just requires a bit change. well hunted , field mastered for four seasons. Would be happy to take a newbie out and of course jumps anything you ask of him

I can’t sing his praises loud enough out hacking! It’s thanks to him that my very sharp show jumper has now started to hack out with Tizer as his lead. I will forever be in debt to him for this. Outstanding in the heaviest of traffic , infront of behind , stands solidly to mount. You won’t find a fault with him. Come and see for yourself and ride him up the 60mph main road , don’t take my word for it. You could ride this horse up the M4!

Participates in all riding club activities as well as camps , clinics etc with different riders over the years. He’s a bit of a local legend and well loved and known by many. Extremely sad sale for previous owner and I have promised I will only sell him to the best of homes where old owner can have contact details and first refusal on him back should new owner circumstances ever change.

That’s enough of me rambling , come and let him do the talking. In a nut shell , he can be a dope on the top happy hack or an all attempts go pony clubers ride , family man, and everything in between - I can’t think of a job he won’t do.

Schoolmaster seeking a new job in life

Ref #: 379470

  • No vices, lovely pony to do in every way
£6,000 ONO

  • 13.2 hands (LHC)
  • Beautifully schooled, light in hand
  • Hacks alone or in company
  • No vices, lovely pony to do in every way
We have made the decision to find a new family for our pony to be treasured. He is the loveliest, easiest, kindest pony that deserves a new job within showing or dressage, to go on and win lots of rosettes.

He schools beautifully, very easy. He is very attractive, getting a lot of attention. He moves well, and would definitely succeed in the dressage or showing ring with an adult or junior rider. He rides like a mini horse, doesn’t feel pony like at all. He has his 138 JMB life height certificate, but he is more like 14h.

He hacks with no problems, alone and in company. Fine in open spaces, going through sheep fields, not at all fizzy, strong or silly. Happy in a group or on his own. He loves XC and would definitely hunt.

He has been a showjumping pony, and has had a lot of success, but he has lost the love for this now and dried up in the showjumping ring. Nothing nasty at all, jumps at home, in training, clinics etc. but we are not selling as a showjumping pony, we want him to go on and succeed in a new job.

We have owned him for three years, and is fit and ready for the season ahead. Everything up to date, no vices ridden or in stable. Travels brilliantly, loads himself more or less. Great to clip-very easy pony.

Sad sale, but we showjump, and it is not fair to keep him doing something he clearly doesn’t want to do anymore. He deserves to be someone’s number one. We are going to do some dressage and showing over the forthcoming weeks, to get some experience under his belt-confident he’ll shine.

Would consider lease, then l can have him back, and we could try again-he is so special. It is such a shame, such a talented pony.

Price includes made to measure saddle.

Horses like Connie do not come up for sale often. This little mare has taken me on a journey I never expected would be a reality.

Connie is fantastic on the ground. Hacks alone, in company and on the road. Easy to shoe, clip and handle.

Connie is a genuine little mare who adores competing. She loves her job and makes competing a dream. She will travel and stand on the lorry with no problems, is used to "stay away shows" and settles quickly into temporary stables. Connie is a consistent mare who is achieving over 70% in Novice and Elementary dressage tests and Low-Sub 30s in eventing.

We have a great BE record showing she is a Double Clear horse in both 90 and 100 classes. She takes on Championship classes in her stride and has the potential to be a Grassroots horse. Furthermore, Connie is something else when it comes to cross country, She is the perfect combination of safe and fun, leaving you to enjoy the round.

A 2022 17" close-contact Fairfax saddle and an Albion Dressage Saddle fitted to Connie, along with a full wardrobe is available with the sale and is included in the price.

Connie has been there and got the T-shirt. She is only for sale due to a change in owners circumstances and this decision has not come lightly. Therefore, serious enquires only - NO NOVICE RIDERS - She is an amazing mare but she is a fit competition pony who will need a confident rider to compete at a similar level.

Only the best homes will be considered for this fantastic little horse and references will be requested.

Didi is a 14.1 to 14.2 Belgische RIJ Pony that is 12 years old. She is a grey with a hint of flea-bitten spots in places.

She is easy to hack alone or in company.(Prefers with friends). She is easy to catch and lead to and from places. She loads well most of the time and travels well. Didi is easy to lunge. Good with the farrier and clips well and easily.

Didi is good with children and doesn’t mind dogs if they keep out of the way. She is also good with scooters and bikes. She crosses main roads with care and doesn’t mind cars. She is a bit nervous around lorries and tractors but will pass them as long as you are patient.

Didi’s past experience in her home before me based around dressage and schoolwork. And now with me we do mostly show jumping but also with flatwork. We usually jump in between the height of 50 to 75cm but we have jumped up to 90cm before. She will jump over any coloured jumps and fillers as long as she is ridden with control. In summer me and Didi also do some cross country. She will jump everything, she doesn’t mind water. But I mainly focus on show jumping.

Didi is an amazing pony to learn on as she is so genuine. When jumping if I go to a jump on an angle she straightens out for me, when I land on the wrong leg she again help me out and either goes into trot so start back up on the right leg or will also do a flying change. She is forward with jumping as she loves it so much and is very collected with cantering between jumps whilst doing a course.

When I have lessons she is good by herself or in company with other horses. This also applies to her in the field as she will go alone or in company. (Prefers in company). She can be left outside all year round (with a warm rug in winter) or she can go in at nights and come out in the day. She is good to groom and wash. She doesn’t kick.

She has never had a foal we are only simply selling her I have simply outgrown her. I hope that she will go to a good home where she can keep doing what she loves.

Ribbons is as all round as they come - will turn her hoof to anything.

Just recently started BD in October 2024 with my 16yo daughter and had great success, picking up numerous qualifications including: winter area festivals, winter nationals, summer nationals, summer areas. Current petplan area prelim u21 bronze champion. Constantly scores high 60s - low 70s at BD prelim and novice. Training at elementary and working towards medium with great promise.

Three excellent paces constantly praised by judges and a very trainable attitude on a good brain. Very talented, consistent BD youth pony - just come back from inter regionals where she had great success and has just been selected for home nations.

Very brave, bold, safe jumper who knows and loves her job. An absolute tryer who will always leave the rails up and will take a miss. The kindest pony who hasn't got a bad bone in her body - extremely safe, family type pony, never acts silly or spicy and not mareish at all. Currently showjumping at 80cm/90cm and very rarely out the placings - a clear round machine! Can be very competitive against the clock around a course but equally will step down and bimble round a course with a less experienced rider. No other horse you'd rather take cross country, she is very much a point and go type pony.

Evented up to 80cm successfully - winning machine up to this level. Never outside the top 3 after dressage, led the dressage at almost very single event she has ever done.

She has done absolutely everything from competitions, qualifiers, stay-aways to beach rides, hacks pony club camps and all the in between. Never put a foot wrong and is complimented for her temperament and looks everywhere she goes. A total dream to hack solo and in company - my daughter always takes her out by herself. Travels perfectly and is perfect for the dentist, farrier, vert, physio etc. A temperament money can't buy - she is a real unicorn.

A very reliable, uncomplicated pony that has a hard to find wow factor about her whilst also being the kindest, easiest person to be around.

A serious one in a million type pony that will take a young rider to great success. She is my daughter's first pony and we're a non-horsey family, but together they have learnt the world of eventing, dressage and showjumping with many huge successes along the way.

Extremely hard sale as Ribbons is now hopelessly outgrown by my daughter after years of them teaching each other everything. We would love to see her go to a young rider or family who she can teach the ropes to and will be loved as much as we do.

Just a snippet of Ribbons' extensive CV:

Halo is a fabulously safe and fun pony! She is not spooky or silly and always brings her rider home safely.

She has had a go at everything from hacking, to XC schooling, dressage and showjumping. She's been on the beach, done all the fancy dress fun classes and been loved and used as fun all rounder.

Our focus however has been British Showjumping and since registering her in 2022 she has gained 313 points (£651), qualified for Nationals every year, jumped at Blue Chip, POYS, Spook, Welsh Derby and everything in between!

Sadly for sale as the rider will be off 138s at the end of the year and already has a 148 that she is focusing on.

Whilst Halo has qualified for the Discovery final I do think this is the top of her ability given her age and we would love her to go to someone who will start their BS journey and work there way up so she can continue doing the job she loves for many more years.

She is fit and healthy though has had some medical management which will all be declared to ensure you can keep her on top form and her price reflects this.

Based with me at Queenz Equestrian (HP17 8LR) since 2021, sale needed by end of July - so please do get in contact if you are interested. Loads more photos and videos available.

Fabulous little mare that is a real gem to ride, well mannered and polite and thoroughly enjoys her jumping. Very careful and has been competed regularly with my grandson and has been consistently placed in all NSEA and PC SJ teams.

Over the last 3yrs that she has been with us he has taken her to all our local shows, Hickstead, XC schooling , PC camps and has been an absolute star!

Very ‘handy’ so that makes her great against the clock - she is always in the ribbons but will she will also adjust for a more novice rider and will quietly teach them the ropes.

Manners at a show that are impeccable, happy to stand quietly at the lorry whilst others are being ridden and she loads like clockwork.

Dancer has been shown in her previous home with success and she has lovely flatwork- she is polite and gentle to ride and is very sensible and trustworthy, she rides very sensibly in big open spaces and is great XC and will ride calmly alone or in company.

Very good out Hacking and is good with all road and farm traffic, and will go alone or with a group.

Dancer’s stable manners are fantastic - she is kind to handle by children and will stand for hours with them to be groomed and pampered, she great with the farrier/ dentist and to clip.

Happy to be turned out with others or alone and she is easy to catch, lead in and tie up.

If you want a pony for your child to be safe and well looked after and for them to jump and win rosettes she is the one for you!!

Much loved family pony that has all the highest of references from all the local pony clubs and show centres - Dancer has taught my grandson the ropes in PC and SJ and only deserves a 10* home!!

Beautiful cremello 2018 Connemara (full with green book) gelding standing at a full up 14.2hh. Johnny is the ultimate fun pony, he’s been out and done plenty, an absolute sweetheart to have around and a real quality, head turning and easy ride.

With three balanced, flashy and rhythmical paces on the flat he produces a lovely test and has had some brilliant scores, lovely comfortable, easy to sit to paces.

Johnny is a great hack, he will gladly walk out without being nagged, great alone and in company and reliable and easy in heavy traffic.

He’s a nice pony on the ground, easy to do and to manage, a low maintenance sort.

Johnny is fantastic over a fence, equally as talented XC as he is showjumping and he has plenty of experience, he has a super technique and genuine to ride round a track of fences, he’s also hunted.

A real allrounder who’s done plenty, seen enough and he’s ready to go out and have lots of fun.

Open to any vet or trainer.
