  • Stunning and quality RID
  • Beautiful paces with cadence
  • Straightforward all rounder

For LWVTB (possible possible pure loan if local)

Cappa Aspen (Caspa)

Quality Registered Irish Draught, bred by the renowned Cappa Stud. By Cappa Emporer and grandsire the fabulous Cappa Cassanova

16.1 hh dapple grey gelding, rising 8.

Caspa is a stunning and straightforward all rounder. He is bold to jump. Has beautiful paces with cadence.

He would suit an all round home with a varied life; dressage, hacking, low level jumping, workers local showing or county level Irish Draught showing potential.

He has done pc camp, pc rallies, hunter trials, sj, combined training, unaffiliated dressage, tons of clinics and hacking. We have had him since he was four. He is very easy to take out and about.

He is more whoa than go but not a plod. He has been brought on correctly and is unspoilt.

Generally a quality and all round nice boy who will give back as much as you give him.

Good to hack (not a huge fan of moving large vehicles but getting better ) , box, shoe and clip.

Looking for an experienced home with the time needed to maintain his fitness and muscle in the right places. This is paramount. He can not be left for days without working so only committed individuals with time available to contact us please.

He has had his sacroiliac treated at Rossdales this summer. He has been expertly rehabbed since and had the all clear to continue as normal.

He has been fully X-rayed / scanned this summer and these and all vet reports will be available to those with serious interest.

He is currently well muscled, really fit and completely ready to go out and have fun again.

He may well need his sacroiliac injecting again in the future. But provided he remains fit and muscled in the right places any future treatment should just be maintenance top ups.

Note: He has never been lame with his sacroiliac, just became uncomfortable before it was treated.

We are looking for a long term forever family as a loan with a view to buy. This is to ensure all are happy. His price is reflective of his vet history.

Caspa deserves the very best new family. References will be required and contracts put in place.

Only looking for a new family as my son is keen to move up the eventing levels.

Currently stabled near Duxford/ Royston (Essex/Herts/Cambridgeshire border)

Enquiries from excellent homes within a couple of hours of Epping, Essex will be given priority.

Companion Pony - Pocahontas

Pocahontas is a kind and gentle pony who is now ready to step into a quieter phase of life. After having spent time as an RDA pony, she’s looking for a loving home where she can enjoy a relaxed lifestyle as a non-ridden companion. She’s a sweet, easy-going mare who would thrive in a home where she can go for gentle walks, enjoy horse agility, and be pampered with regular grooming.

Like many small cobs, Pocahontas will need to have her weight carefully managed. Her new home will need to keep an eye on her diet to ensure she stays in a healthy condition. She gets along well with both mares and geldings, so she’d be happy to live with a mixed herd or with one other. She’s low-maintenance when it comes to living as she can live out full time or be part-stabled with companions.

Pocahontas is easy to handle when it comes to grooming, picking out feet, and routine veterinary and farrier care. She’s a real star when it comes to everyday handling and is a joy to have around.

If you’re looking for a gentle, easy-to-please companion who’s ready to enjoy a quieter life, Pocahontas could be the perfect pony for you. She’s looking for a home where she can relax, enjoy life at her own pace, and be loved and cared for.

Companion Pony - Noodles

Noodles is a charming and resilient pony who has touched the hearts of everyone who meets him. A former lead rein pony, he is now enjoying a well-deserved retirement and is seeking a caring home where he can thrive. Though he has stepped back from his working days, his kind nature and affectionate personality remain fully intact.

Noodles has a manageable health condition that requires a careful diet to help him maintain a healthy weight. Although he currently doesn’t need medication, monitoring his diet is essential to his well-being. He would be happiest living in an environment with sparse grazing or on a track system that helps regulate his intake. Ideal companions would include Shetlands or other small native ponies that share similar living needs.

This sweet, lone soul has so much love to give to the right family. He enjoys the company of both mares and geldings, making him a flexible addition to an established herd. While he can be independent, he also relishes quiet moments of companionship with his equine friends and caretakers alike.

Noodles is a delight to handle. He stands patiently for grooming and willingly offers his hooves for picking out. His cooperative and calm demeanour make him a joy to be around. Ready to welcome Noodles into your life? This special pony is waiting to find his forever home where he can continue to be loved and cherished.

Companion Pony - Bailey

Bailey is a striking piebald cob mare looking for her forever family as a non-ridden companion. With her distinctive black-and-white coat and kind eyes, Bailey is sure to capture the hearts of those who understand her gentle yet reserved nature. She may take a little time to warm up, but with patience and kindness, she blossoms into a devoted friend.

Initially, Bailey can be a touch reserved as she adjusts to new surroundings, but once she feels safe and secure, her affectionate side begins to shine through. She’s a horse that thrives on trust, and those who offer her the time and understanding she needs will be rewarded with a deep and lasting bond.

As a cob, Bailey requires attentive management of feather mites, a common condition that needs regular attention to keep her comfortable and healthy. She will do best with an adopter who is knowledgeable or willing to learn about her specific needs and can provide the consistent care she deserves.

Bailey enjoys grooming and appreciates the gentle touch of a caring hand. While she’s generally cooperative, she is still working on feeling more at ease with picking out her feet and visits from the farrier. An adopter with the patience to continue her training in these areas will help her build confidence and trust.

If you’re looking for a beautiful, kind-hearted mare with a gentle soul and are ready to offer her the patience and care she needs, Bailey is waiting to find her perfect home.

Ethel embodies the quiet wisdom that comes with age. She has a calm, patient demeanour that makes her an endearing presence in any paddock. Though she’s only been with us for a short time, it’s clear that Ethel has a naturally sweet disposition and a gentle soul.

In her short stay with us, Ethel has shown that she is good to handle and appreciates the company of caring humans. She enjoys grooming and gentle interaction, responding with calmness and trust.

  • To be kept on our private Yard on our farm.
I am looking for a horse 14.2hh - 17hh mare or Gelding for loan or for sale, to primarily hack out with my daughter and her horse. The main thing is for him/her to be good in traffic especially farm machinery as we live on a farm and my daughters horse is nervous with tractors. Happy to hack out alone and in company and to maybe do the occasional show.

Would suit perhaps an older horse now looking for a quieter life on our farm. We have individual turnout as well as mixed, and we turn out every day whatever the weather if we possibly can. I am an experienced rider who has evented in the past but now would just like to hack and enjoy riding out with my daughter.

We offer a forever home on our own private yard on our farm. References available.

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE OR PONY SUITABLE FOR THE RDA?

WANTED ON LONG TERM LOAN / PURCHASE

Ref #: 249896
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.
