It is with the heaviest of hearts that we offer for sale our beloved Elcon Metallic, known affectionately at home as Minty – a truly exceptional 4-year-old Welsh Section A gelding who has not only dazzled in the show ring but captured every heart he’s met along the way.
Minty is the epitome of a mother’s dream – a pony who offers safety, talent, personality, and a golden future in the right hands. Whether on the lead rein or progressing through first ridden, Minty has been nothing short of outstanding. He has competed and triumphed at Pony Club and County Level, with multiple championship wins under his belt, including Supremes at Derby County Show, NCPA, and Leicester County Show.
Professionally broken and carefully produced by none other than HOYS winner Edward Young, Minty has been given the very best start in life. He is bold yet kind, flashy yet safe, and truly one of the most reliable ponies we’ve ever had the privilege of owning.
From the stable to the show ring, Minty is a joy. He hacks out happily alone or in company, is unfazed by traffic, brilliant for the farrier, vet, clipping, loading, and stands like a rock for his teeth. His temperament is second to none – loving, gentle, and cheekily charming. At home, he’s a real character – the type of pony who makes you smile every time you walk into the yard.
We know in our hearts that Minty is a future HOYS star, and it’s only due to our lack of a small jockey that we have reached the impossible decision to let him go. This is not just a sale – this is us seeking the perfect home for a pony we love dearly. We will not let him go to just anyone. He will only be sold to a 5-star, knowledgeable, and committed home with references. His new family must be ready to give him the future he deserves and help him fulfil the potential we know he holds.
We are not in a rush to sell, and Minty will not be available for loan – please respect this.
