TEELING LITTLE LEGS (aka Joey, Twinkle Joes, Sir Joseph)

The time has come for Joey to find a new little rider to bring on as my daughter is now too big for him. His next home is the most important thing for us so must be 5*.

He is 12.2hh and 11 years old. We have had him 4 years and he has brought my daughter from a complete beginner to jumping 90cm at home and courses of 70cm unaffiliated and doing prelim dressage with Dressage Ireland. Joey was not registered with SJI as we mainly did pony club and unaffiliated competition in all disciplines (SJ, Jump X, dressage and showing).

He is so kind to his little people particularly at the beginner stage and currently has 2 small people under the age of 4 who can ride him off the lead rein.

He has no lumps or bumps. Joey can turn his hoof to everything from hacking, to pony club games and xc.

Joey is currently barefoot but we have also had him shod, he can live in or out and is easy to clip, shoe, load, wash etc.

We have hundreds of videos so if you have someone that might be interested please send them our way. He will come with his full wardrobe including a custom made 1 year old saddle.

No riding schools or dealers please.

Wanted - 12.2-13.2hh Pony Club Legend for SALE, LEASE or LOAN

Ref #: 360787

  • Must be very consistent jumping up to 50/60cm
  • Kind, knowledgeable 5* home and very healthy budget for the right pony
  • Looking for a safe, steady and sensible 1.5-type pony
  • Must be very consistent jumping up to 50/60cm
  • Kind, knowledgeable 5* home and very healthy budget for the right pony
Looking for the next pony for my tall 9-year old daughter, Olivia, to be used for all low-level Pony Club activities, local show-jumping, NSEA grassroots, as well as general hacking, lessons and fun. Olivia is a fairly competent rider (can canter without stirrups and jump 45cm courses) but not that confident so we are looking for a steady, sensible safe confidence-giver - a 1.5 type pony. Pony must:

- Be at least 8 years old (the older the better - we love a golden oldie)
- Be an old hand at Pony Club
- Be more kick than pull
- Be very consistent jumping up to 50cm/60cm (dirty stoppers need not apply)
- Be very safe and sensible out hacking in open spaces
- Have no ridden vices that would scare a fairly nervous child (absolutely no bucking, rearing, spinning, bolting, napping)
- Have a nice rhythmical canter and not pull into jumps
- Have a reference from a Pony Club DC or instructor

We are happy to provide videos of Olivia riding and references (including from Pony Club and owners of ponies we have loaned previously).

We appreciate that there are not many ponies available at this time of year and don’t mind waiting a few months for the right one, so even if you are not planning to sell until the spring, please do get in touch.

Honey is a 12h riding 20 year old Welsh B mare. We have had Honey for almost 4 years and during that time she has taught my daughter, and then my niece, to ride going from the very basics on lead rein to competing in dressage and show jumping. Great to hack out along or in company.

Honey is always in the ribbons and is the most genuine, trustworthy and special LRFR pony you could ask for. A true mother’s dream who knows her job and looks after her little jockey at all times. Definitely more kick than pull, Honey has the right temperament for any young one wanting to ride.

Honey has never been sick or sorry. She comes with tack (including an English Saddle Company saddle made for her) and a full wardrobe of rugs. She lives out in the day and in at night, and will stand for hours so long as she has hay. Honey loads perfectly, is great with the vet and dentist, and is a dream to clip.

Whilst we have thought about keeping Honey, the truth is we have no jockey for her and she has so much more to give and little people to teach. A good home is a priority for this gorgeous, one in a million mare . We are really looking looking for a home with a tiny jockey looking to start their riding journey, learning the basics and moving on to catering confidently or a small child wanting to do dressage. My daughter has ridden Honey in Intro tests and got scores ranging between 64 and 67. These sorts of jobs are what Honey is best suited to and where she really excels.

Countless photos and videos available upon request. Please text 07494 141375 for more information.

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE OR PONY SUITABLE FOR THE RDA?

WANTED ON LONG TERM LOAN / PURCHASE

Ref #: 249896
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.

Flint is approximately 12hh Grey Welsh section A. 16 years old (born 2009). We have owned him for 7 years and he has taught my two boys to ride.

Flint is known as the saint of our horses. He is everything from the little legend that looks after the boys when they learned to ride to the nanny that looks after the big horses in the field.

He is absolutely amazing on the lead rein and will follow his handler everywhere. We have done PC camps, mini show jumping and xc, mini hunter trials, mini one day events. He is also brilliant to ride and lead.

Flint is a true lead rein pony and this is definitely his job in life. Off the lead rein he looks for his handler and is a bit lost as he has always been a lead rein pony.

Flint loves to be groomed and played with and is absolutely trustworthy for the children to lead him and play with him.

This pony is one in a million and will only go to a lovely home. Only for sale as my son now needs his first ridden pony and we have no little jockeys coming through that will need a lead rein pony in the future.

No vices. Great to clip, bath, shoe, lead in and out, great in and out of the stable. Always good to catch.
He has had equine asthma with me a few times usually in the summer but very easy to manage. Never been lame with us.

Based OX20 near to Woodstock in Oxfordshire.

5 year old 11.2hh Welsh Section A mare (unpapered).

Professionally broken autumn 2023, Fern has 3 nice paces, happily pops a jump and is never strong or silly. She is still a bit green but is very intelligent and picks up new things very quickly. Hacks out alone and in company and isn't fazed by anything. Due to lack of time she is working about twice per week at the moment but is still calm and not fizzy at all.

She is very affectionate and loves a good groom and a pamper. Good to catch, box, trim (she is barefoot) and clip.

Fully vaccinated and wormed.

Would make a lovely LR / FR or pony club pony.

She is ready to find someone to go out and have fun with her. Experienced home essential due to her age.

Major is a fantastic pony club / allrounder that would excel as a 2 nd pony turning his hoof to anything you ask.

He has done pc activities, regularly competed, does a lovely dressage test and has been used in our riding school over the past 3 years where he will happily take a tiny tot on and off the lead rein or jump round a 65 course with a older child.

Major hacks alone or in company and is good in traffic.

Handled daily by children and is good in all respects

  • She is such a lovely sweet pony!

Had a great season with my 5year old daughter this year winning lots of rosettes and being a little star looking after her every time out.

She’s dealt with on a daily basis by poppy and Ella who are age 5 and 3. They catch her from the field, lead her around the yard, tie her up and can both safely brush and deal with her. Loaded on and off the box by the kids and will stand quietly all day. Very loving temperament.

Poppy has just starting riding her off the lead on her own and hacks down the tracks with me just walking with her. Still a little green off the lead but very willing and genuine. Open to any vetting.

She has an amazing future ahead of her.

We attended the local shows last summer and she was only used as a LR pony with light schooling by my daughter, doodles will also jump but would need some guidance as she is still young, she has always done everything asked of her and is a really happy little pony. She would make a fantastic LR FR pony.

Honey has been a pleasure to own over the last year taking our grandaughter safely into the ring in her first year on the lead rein. Honey will go on or off the lead rein she has been popped over a small jump at home but we have not gone any further with jumping as maddy was not ready for it.

She is a versatile pony who could do numerous classes as she will step up a gear for the older kids if they ask her to she would be ideal for a sibling share .

She has given Maddy the best introduction into showing that we could of asked for she has taken maddy into several evening performances with no ear plugs no calmers and very little working in if any and behaved impeccably.

She will stand tied up for ages for madge to groom she hacks out, loads and travels well she is good to do in all ways and is up to date with vacs, teeth etc.

Honey is a very correct and true to type dartmoor she is ready for the coming season ( apart from being very hairy lols) or she would equally make a lovely home /fun all round pony ready to be her next jockeys new best friend.

Can be forward going ride. Loves jumping, is bold. Has done some lead-rein work. Would suit a hunt, pony club, games or common riding family. Exercised by an 11 year old, however had younger children on board and also schooled by an adult to further education. Fit and ready to go.

Absolutely devastated to be having to advertise her as we just love her she is the sweetest loveliest little mare.

I hate that children grow out of ponies far too quickly and sadly my daughter has just shot up and is growing out of her much quicker than we thought.

Molly is 14 with fantastic breeding.

She is a fabulous lead rein pony, she is amazing at shows, will stand and wait, stand on the box, can’t fault her!

She can ride off the lead rein but with a confident child

Plenty of videos and photos to show on and off lead rein

She lives in or out,

Perfect to clip

Beautifully behaved for the Vet, Farrier, Dentist etc

Loads and travels lovely, even a child can load her,

Fabulous in traffic,

Has hacked past many flappy objects unphased.

Much loved pony and I really do want the best for her.

12.3 15y mare, same home for last 4 years.

Lady was bought as a first pony teaching a petite 7y old girl to ride safely, giving her enough confidence to now move onto a 14h pony.

Lady has been there done it, got the t shirt and does what it says on the tin with no drama. She is not bothered by unbalanced little ones learning their up downs or bouncing around learning to canter. She does as much or as little you ask or her.

She is an active member of both pc and Rc and brilliant in group lessons or individual inside or out. She hacks out over the common, beach rides in large groups or will happy go on her own. She’s not sharp or spooky and really is a true ,genuine first pony.once you can ride she will jump a course of jumps, fillers ect in canter or trot if you want. She is not strong and has a lovely mouth coming back easily.

She also loves a little dressage competition with regular footfall winning lots of rosettes. She goes on fun rides and also loves XC. I can’t say enough about this wonderful pony who will be very sadly missed. No vices, good to catch, load trim(barefoot)and clip. Loves a fuss by all the children.

Lady will only go to the very best of homes who will keep in touch. Ideally a family with a younger child coming up behind. We have loads of videos and pictures and also instructor and dc references if required.

Lady is based just off j 35 of m4 south wales.
