Belle - The most loving family type pony, a good all rounder or equally the perfect mother/daughter share.

A stunning coloured, full up 13.2 Welsh Cob X.

Belle has been with me 4 years, being a riding school favourite. She will wait patiently for the rider to mount, never strong or silly and snaffle mouthed at all times.

She participates in local shows and hacks out through woods, busy roads and in open spaces. Belle will easily pop round a course of 60-90cm courses with fillers and had been placed at local shows.

Belle is up to date with her vaccinations, worming, chiropractor, dentist, saddle fitting and farrier (barefoot). Belle absolutely loves attention, the sought that follows you in the field for a fuss or a bum scratch! She prefers the human company over anything else.

When I had Belle, we didn't realise she was in foal which came at a big shock! Belle produced a beautiful filly back in April 2022 and recovered really well. Since having a foal she has been an asset to the riding school and all the children love her!

She is never nasty, bites or kicks

Belle is an ideal 2nd pony for a teenager wanting to do schooling and low level competing or a mature person looking for something reliable and safe!

This has been a heartbreaking sale as the riding school comes to a close the end of April. Belle could make a confident teenager very happy with what she can offer. Belle will be available the end of April but accepting viewings now.

Lots of videos and photos of Belle on request, along with rugs & tack at an additional price.

Wanted genuine all rounder 14.2hh (if full up) to 16.2hh

11.2 Lead rein /first pony

  • Lovely family pony
Very sad sale of this sweet gelding who has been my daughter’s first pony and a wonderful family pet for the last few years. We bought him as a lead rein pony for our 6yo which he was brilliant for but she grew in confidence enough to ride him off the lead and for the last 12 months has been hacking and competing in local SJ and ODEs.

Disco is 11.2 Welsh part-bred (green passport) and 17 years young. He loves hacking through forests and along country lanes. He did mini Pony club camp last summer all off the lead rein with my 7 year old and they had a lovely time.

He loves his jumping and has been competing him at 30 and 40cm assisted for school at NSEA and for pony club, competing at Bicton Pony Club Mini champs in August 2024 and has already qualified for 2025. He will jump anything in front of him and doesn’t mind wobbly riders as he will follow the adult wherever they lead. In Feb half term 2025, he came 1st at Bovington RAC showjumping comp in the L/R 40cm and 4th in the Assisted 40cm, (clear rounds for both).

He has been to the Pony Club hunt meet and behaved beautifully. He also went cubbing and hunting on the lead rein with his previous owners. He is happy to be led from a horse and has a quick stride so he keeps up well.

Disco does not really like schooling in an enclosed arena - he is fine when an adult is walking alongside/ on the lead rein but is quite scared of shouty instructors and sometimes naps back to the gate if he doesn’t have a bossy rider. This has only happened a handful of times out of a hundred but worth disclosing. He never bucks or rears but if you come up behind him with a stick/whip, he will scoot forward as we think he has sadly had a bad experience in the past. He is not bombproof when off the lead rein - he still has lots of energy and character but has taught my daughter to love cantering along country lanes, jumping and made her a confident little rider. She’s moved onto her next pony so Disco no longer has a rider and new home sought.

We are still in touch with his previous owners who also love him very much and we can both provide loads of photos and videos. He will only go to a lovely family home where he’ll be appreciated and well-cared for. £3000 incl. tack

Wanted kind best friend

  • Mother daughter share for fun varied life
  • Long term experienced, family home
  • 148cm and above but under 16.2hh
We are looking for a kind all rounder
To have fun with confident teenage daughter. Competing sj, a little xc, arena eventing, ode etc
And to enjoy hacking with experienced mum escorting out the kids and hacking through the quiet countryside, moors and woods. As well as some riding club activities, lessons and clinics.

Would love something with a fairly honest jump and that isn’t too sharp. Can be younger if level headed attitude or older maybe needing a step down. It will be a varied fun life.

Must be good in traffic although our lanes are quiet we do meet the odd tractor. We have a trailer so must be happy to travel in one.

In return we can offer a loving , experienced home at our own indoor stables with lots of turnout, with just our other horses. We have great riding and are just down from Dartmoor. Our horses want for nothing and we are happy to meet any extra needs. We find it hard to sell on so we hope the right horse will stay with us forever.

South Devon based but will travel a few hours to view. Will wait for the right one if you’re not ready yet. References available if needed. Decent budget. Please phone message or WhatsApp

  • Cookie has given so much fun and confidence and is now ready to find her next jockey
Cookie is a fun, forward going 2nd Pony.

She has attended all PC Rallies, competitions and had regular lessons with our main instructor. She is fit and ready to go, never sick or sorry. She has excellent manners and is handled by our petite 8 year old daughter who brings her in from the field, grooms her, tacks her up (standing on a box to reach!) she has even helped Clip her and bath her. She also loads her when we go out and about

She hacks alone and in company, is bombproof in heavy traffic, in fact she regularly collects her rider from school and is not fussed by school buses and busy school pick up traffic. She is ridden in open spaces over Bredon Hill and is polite and has brakes. Good to ride and lead.

We bought Cookie to allow our daughter to progress from a very steady first Pony to independently riding and jumping courses.

She has done a brilliant job and now needs to find her next jockey to make that transition from a first Pony to a sportier model! She will come with a full wardrobe and we would like to stay in touch. Lots of photos and videos on request

Good to box, shoe (she is barefoot) Clip, Bath

Selling as the next Pony has arrived sooner than expected

14.1/14.2hh (approx.) liver chestnut gelding. 15 years old.

Frankie is an absolutely wonderful and honest all-rounder. He was originally a riding school pony, but since we have had him. He has really come on nicely.

He's tried his hand at everything: showing, dressage, showjumping and cross-country.

Frankie has qualified for STARS champion of champions 2024 and won the overall Show Hunter Pony 2024 class at Longton Riding Club in his first season!

Frankie has good stable manners, stands to be brushed, tacked up etc and has a wonderful, sensible temperament. He is a big teddy bear.

When riding, Frankie is quiet and well-mannered.

He hacks out quietly in company and alone and is a curious, nosy sort of boy, will make a lovely adventuring companion for his next rider.

He is now looking for a quieter life due to slowing down a bit with age. Hence reflected in the price.

He is not a total beginner ride.

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE OR PONY SUITABLE FOR THE RDA?

WANTED ON LONG TERM LOAN / PURCHASE

Ref #: 249896
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.
