Wanted - 12.2-13.2hh Pony Club Legend for SALE, LEASE or LOAN

Ref #: 360787

  • Looking for a safe, steady and sensible 1.5-type pony
  • Must be very consistent jumping up to 50/60cm
  • Kind, knowledgeable 5* home and very healthy budget for the right pony
Looking for the next pony for my tall 9-year old daughter, Olivia, to be used for all low-level Pony Club activities, local show-jumping, NSEA grassroots, as well as general hacking, lessons and fun. Olivia is a fairly competent rider (can canter without stirrups and jump 45cm courses) but not that confident so we are looking for a steady, sensible safe confidence-giver - a 1.5 type pony. Pony must:

- Be at least 8 years old (the older the better - we love a golden oldie)
- Be an old hand at Pony Club
- Be more kick than pull
- Be very consistent jumping up to 50cm/60cm (dirty stoppers need not apply)
- Be very safe and sensible out hacking in open spaces
- Have no ridden vices that would scare a fairly nervous child (absolutely no bucking, rearing, spinning, bolting, napping)
- Have a nice rhythmical canter and not pull into jumps
- Have a reference from a Pony Club DC or instructor

We are happy to provide videos of Olivia riding and references (including from Pony Club and owners of ponies we have loaned previously).

We appreciate that there are not many ponies available at this time of year and don’t mind waiting a few months for the right one, so even if you are not planning to sell until the spring, please do get in touch.

Honey is a 12h riding 20 year old Welsh B mare. We have had Honey for almost 4 years and during that time she has taught my daughter, and then my niece, to ride going from the very basics on lead rein to competing in dressage and show jumping. Great to hack out along or in company.

Honey is always in the ribbons and is the most genuine, trustworthy and special LRFR pony you could ask for. A true mother’s dream who knows her job and looks after her little jockey at all times. Definitely more kick than pull, Honey has the right temperament for any young one wanting to ride.

Honey has never been sick or sorry. She comes with tack (including an English Saddle Company saddle made for her) and a full wardrobe of rugs. She lives out in the day and in at night, and will stand for hours so long as she has hay. Honey loads perfectly, is great with the vet and dentist, and is a dream to clip.

Whilst we have thought about keeping Honey, the truth is we have no jockey for her and she has so much more to give and little people to teach. A good home is a priority for this gorgeous, one in a million mare . We are really looking looking for a home with a tiny jockey looking to start their riding journey, learning the basics and moving on to catering confidently or a small child wanting to do dressage. My daughter has ridden Honey in Intro tests and got scores ranging between 64 and 67. These sorts of jobs are what Honey is best suited to and where she really excels.

Countless photos and videos available upon request. Please text 07494 141375 for more information.

Tiny tots leadrein pony

  • A perfect temperament
  • Beautiful trot with a real first ridden canter.
She did live out at stud for her first few years so will live in or out.

Patsy as she is known as at home is a perfect kids pony in her stable although she is still very green undersaddle, we can leave little ones in her stable unoccupied with no worry. She is never mareish and loves nothing more than a fuss and a cuddle.

In her time with us i have taken her to a very busy show inhand with no plugs or calmer where her behaviour was impeccable, she wasn’t phased by any of the cheering and noises, or any ponies being silly around her.

At this moment in time she is more suited as a leadrein pony simply due to her lack of experience off the lead as we haven’t had enough time to bring her ridden work on as we have 4 more horses to be prepped for the season so she hasn’t been a priority.

However i do believe being a tiny tots leadrein would be her forte, She has a beautiful natural head carriage, she isn’t bothered in the slightest about little ones bouncing on her back. She would follow you round for hours she really does love her people and attention.

Patsy will pop a little cross so would also do a leadrein workers class, she also hacks on her own or in company whether that’s leading or being at the back.

She hasn’t been in consistent ridden work recently as we don’t have the time, we’re only parting with her as my niece has progressed quicker than we thought and now doesn’t want to ride on the lead but she isn’t yet ready to teach patsy the ways off lead.

Home is far more important than the price which reflects that, tack can be sold seperately ( New zoe snape with girth and show numnah, only worn a few times and has had saddle cover on the whole time)

Flint is approximately 12hh Grey Welsh section A. 16 years old (born 2009). We have owned him for 7 years and he has taught my two boys to ride.

Flint is known as the saint of our horses. He is everything from the little legend that looks after the boys when they learned to ride to the nanny that looks after the big horses in the field.

He is absolutely amazing on the lead rein and will follow his handler everywhere. We have done PC camps, mini show jumping and xc, mini hunter trials, mini one day events. He is also brilliant to ride and lead.

Flint is a true lead rein pony and this is definitely his job in life. Off the lead rein he looks for his handler and is a bit lost as he has always been a lead rein pony.

Flint loves to be groomed and played with and is absolutely trustworthy for the children to lead him and play with him.

This pony is one in a million and will only go to a lovely home. Only for sale as my son now needs his first ridden pony and we have no little jockeys coming through that will need a lead rein pony in the future.

No vices. Great to clip, bath, shoe, lead in and out, great in and out of the stable. Always good to catch.
He has had equine asthma with me a few times usually in the summer but very easy to manage. Never been lame with us.

Based OX20 near to Woodstock in Oxfordshire.

Due to circumstances we are tentatively looking for a new loving companion home for a very special pony.

She’s a young 25 and is the sweetest natured girl.

She has done lots of competing in her time but she now needs a quiet life within a knowledgeable horsey home. She could be lead reined with a small child on board but only for gentle hacking.

She’s never been a plod, she’s always loved work and would still go so it’s important that whoever has her will understand this and treat her as an older lady with kindness and care.

She would be a lovely companion as she’s ok if left alone in the field or stable. She will live in or out but needs to move really so out is best unless it’s very wet and windy in which case we do bring her in occasionally.

Easy to care for

Excellent with young children and other animals

Definitely a good doer

Please PM only- no comments on here, this is a very hard decision.

Bruce Almighty is an exceptional little chap.

Whether his pulling a carriage of noisy children down busy lanes or patiently allowing an inexperienced jockey to learn to ride, his main aim is to please.

I’m confident he would excel in any discipline.

He has a brave ‘can do’ attitude and loves to be spoilt and played with.

Excellent with small children, dogs and other horses, although he is still a stallion you absolutely wouldn’t know it. He is by far the calmest horse on the yard. His stable over looks the mares field and he isn’t bothered in the slightest.

Bruce moves fantastically well and is keen to learn and listens to your aids. would definitely turn heads in the show ring.

He is quiet and straightforward to ride, stands still to be harnessed or tacked up. Hacks alone or in company and is unfazed by traffic, farm Machinery and loud noises.

Fully shod, great with the farrier. Perfect to load, catch, clip and a real gentleman to handle in every way. No vices. Snaffle mouthed.

This super little horse is destined to go far.

He also has great breeding for anyone wanting to utilise.

BLISLAND MAICHA - Beautiful registered 11.2h Welsh sec A Mare. 14years.

Very sad sale due to not having another little rider for her.

Maggy is a very loveable pony. She loves being groomed and loved.

She is absolutely perfect on the lead rein but more of a second pony off the lead rein.

She is a forward going ride and more of a point and go pony. Does not need any leg so would suit a more confident little rider.

She loves to jump and would excel at sj, would also do well in the show ring or pony club activities. Schools nicely and has a lovely outline.

However due to not having a rider for the past year had started to become slightly nappy in the school. This can be sorted quickly with regular work.

Good with farrier and to box and travel. No vices.

Trifle has been a pleasure to own since last year.. whilst we have had him we have castrated him, broken him to ride and go on the lead rein. He has had his back done, he also has had his wolf teeth removed. He is upto date with everything including vaccinations.

Trifle was brought for my son to do the HOYS lr m and m on but as time is going on he just isn't interested in riding that much.. this is the only reason for sale. He is a lovely boy with alot to give and I'm sure I will kick myself in the future as I can see him going all the way.

He has a lovely walk which is hard to find and he has a good amount of limb and nice short cannons.

TEELING LITTLE LEGS (aka Joey, Twinkle Joes, Sir Joseph)

The time has come for Joey to find a new little rider to bring on as my daughter is now too big for him. His next home is the most important thing for us so must be 5*.

He is 12.2hh and 11 years old. We have had him 4 years and he has brought my daughter from a complete beginner to jumping 90cm at home and courses of 70cm unaffiliated and doing prelim dressage with Dressage Ireland. Joey was not registered with SJI as we mainly did pony club and unaffiliated competition in all disciplines (SJ, Jump X, dressage and showing).

He is so kind to his little people particularly at the beginner stage and currently has 2 small people under the age of 4 who can ride him off the lead rein.

He has no lumps or bumps. Joey can turn his hoof to everything from hacking, to pony club games and xc.

Joey is currently barefoot but we have also had him shod, he can live in or out and is easy to clip, shoe, load, wash etc.

We have hundreds of videos so if you have someone that might be interested please send them our way. He will come with his full wardrobe including a custom made 1 year old saddle.

No riding schools or dealers please.

Rookery Jacyddu (Jacko) is a amazing leadrein pony though can also go off the leadrein with a more experienced rider. He has done everything: showjumping, dressage, mini ODE’s, pony club rallies and camp. Jacko regularly competes / jumps up to 40cm though can jump a bit bigger at home. He never disappoints and always comes home with at least 1 rosette.

He is snaffled mouthed and has 3 nice paces. He is great to load, travel, shoe and clip. Jacko will hack alone or in company and doesn’t mind if he goes in front or behind. He is amazing with all types of traffic and hacking on the road.

He is up to date with all vaccinations and dentist. This is a very sad sale due to my daughter outgrowing him as we have had him for almost 3 years and he has taken her from jumping trotting poles on the leadrein to competing off leadrein at 40cm and 50cm confidently at home.

Please contact me for lots more photos and videos.

£6,000

  • Potential top class cradle stakes/junior whp/first ridden
Rex is a 11.3hh grey gelding. Rising 10. Very chunky, leg in each corner type with lovely paces.

He wasn't gelded and broken until the end of his 7th year so really hasn't had a lot of mileage for his age. He was broken and produced solely by an 11 year old.

He was bought at the end of 2023 to do first ridden and cradle stakes (he did this successfully in his previous home, with placings in HOYS first ridden qualifiers and winning novice workers and training stakes including at the BSPS champs)

Unfortunately his jockey had massively lost her confidence having a fall with a pony we tried before buying him. Although Rex has been an angel with her, he has been wasted for the last year as she has not been up to doing what we had planned for them and now she has totally outgrown him.

He has been to only two shows this year but won FR at both shows. She hasn't jumped him at all as she hasn't been confident enough. So he hasn't jumped since we bought him. We now have got him back jumping again and he is really enjoying it.

He is not done enough to be a schoolmaster with his jumping. He is still green and needs bringing on more but has a lot of potential to be a top cradle stakes, junior whp and LIHS qualifiers.

He is the sort who will doddle around when not being asked much but he does step up a gear and is forward when asked more and can get strong when jumping so he needs a confident little jockey to jump him.

Ideal for First ridden, cradle stakes/junior workers/LIHS Qualifiers.

Lovely temperament. Good to hack out and in traffic etc

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE OR PONY SUITABLE FOR THE RDA?

WANTED ON LONG TERM LOAN / PURCHASE

Ref #: 249896
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.
