Cracking 16 hands Irish cob mare

Polly is an exceptional ride and drive. She's one of the softest horses we have had. A real yard favourite.

She is a super hack and will go first or last. She's super in open spaces and isn't bothered by the heaviest traffic.

Super gentle on the ground with impeccable manners.  Always good to catch. Great with farrier. We haven't clipped her but have run the clippers over her.

Based 10 mins from Stansted Airport

15.2/15.3hh 4 year old blue and white mare by “WRS SUNSHINE” (ID) out of a heavy cob mare “BALLEYFRAWELY ECHO”

Full history known, second home since breeder and both homes would absolutely love to stay in touch.

Don’t be put off by her age as she’s a 1 in a million horse, she’s got a heart the size of her and he always tries her best. Ready to go and be someone’s best friend and heart horse.

Brillant confidence giver , will step up or down to her rider and she’s got a great brain for a young horse she’s extremely level headed and willing to please .

Whilst she would happily poodle about and do some happy hacking ect with someone who is looking to do that she also has all the makings to be a show cob she’s extremely straight and correct and would go far on the right hands.

Very well put together , gorgeous girl with the temperament to match.

Handled by children daily she’s the easiest horse on the yard.

Broken and riding very well.

Competed at various low level shows, has hunted on 3 occasions and been to multiple fun rides pole clinics beach ect she really will turn his hoof to anything!

Has a great jump for a well built horse also, she’s totally unphased by any fillers planks water trays ect and although she’s big enough to carry a male rider he’s also polite and easy going so is a ideal ladies hunter .

Takes the day on the field in her own pace she’ll sit at the front Back or somewhere inbetweem

Hacks on her own or in company

Snaffle mouthed

Never been known to buck or rear she’s not sharp in any way , takes everything in her stride.

Quiet to shoe, box and clip

Can live in or out and is great with other horses

No lumps or bumps - recent vetting certificate available and I’m happy for her to be vetted again if necessary.

Cannot say enough good things about this horse. 5* homes only

Can help with transport if needed

£12,000 but can be slightly negotiable to the perfect home

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE OR PONY SUITABLE FOR THE RDA?

WANTED ON LONG TERM LOAN / PURCHASE

Ref #: 249896
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.

PLEASE message through Horsequest in first instance as I have rubbish phone signal!

Really striking 15.3hh 11 yr old Irish Cob X mare. One of the most loving kind and affectionate big horses you'll meet.

She has been hunted, hacked and driven in Ireland, before coming over here two years ago when she joined a riding school type set up. Unfortunately this just isn't for her as she became stale in the school.

Now looking for fun-loving rider and home with lots of hacking and variety.

For the last few months she has been schooled and hacked in a private home away from the riding school and is once again enjoying life! She hacks alone or with others and enjoys a canter out on the Plain! She is once again enjoying her schooling and also loves to jump, although she's not hugely scopey or athletic over a fence as she is quite a chunk! She simply doesn't enjoy being ridden by lots of different novice riders and repetitive riding school lessons. For this reason we have come to the hard decision that she is better suited to a different lifestyle.

We are looking for a home where she can have a varied life including hacking and possibly to hunt again. Equally she could be driven, whilst she hasn't done so with us we do have videos of her driving. She needs a rider who is relatively established so she can crack on and have fun but will happily tolerate a wobbly rider. We think she might suit a 'partner' who wants to accompany a horsey partner for long hacks, fun rides etc. they might not be that accomplished a rider yet but they want to do stuff!

She is up to date other vaccinations, teeth, routine physio. She is very easy to do and to look after and a good doer, and will happily winter out or be stabled. She doesn't need riding every day. She is easy to load and travels well in a lorry or trailer.

This is a hard decision but in her best interests, so we are looking to match her with the right home.

She will happily take a brave novice, but she will suss you out if you are the neevous or anxious type of rider, sorry but she is not the one for you!
