Crafty Web (Winston) has been a successful novice event horse and showjumper. He is TB x WB with his grandfather being Louella Inschalla. He is now 18 and therefore I feel that he is looking for a lovely hacking home / lower level riding club type home, jumping up to around 80cm.
PLEASE READ THE ADVERT IN FULL before making contact. Located Trowbridge in Wiltshire, BA14. Sorry, no loans, LWVTB, offers on price or payment plans. This is a lovely horse for the money and the right home is more important than price which is why he is sensibly priced.
A proper school master who knows his job. He is an easy uncomplicated ride and is ready to come down the levels to teach someone the ropes at the lower heights and for someone who enjoys their hacking. He was evented by a professional event rider and therefore he is well schooled on the flat and can do shoulder in, leg yield, direct transitions etc and has balanced paces.
In his previous home he successfully did Tetrathlon with two teenage boys. He would make a great mother/daughter/son share and is ideal for someone looking for an older schoolmaster on a budget.
He is easy to take to shows and on the ground and does not need riding every day. You could leave him 6 months and jump straight back on and go for a hack.
I bought him nearly 2 years ago to get me back jumping after a few years off and he has done the job. I have done riding club, group clinics and lessons and some competitions at 80/90cm. He keeps a nice rhythm to a fence without being strong. I have also cross country schooled him.
I have recently had his hocks medicated for the first time to get him ready for sale after I turned him away from January to March due to lack of time. I just felt that his hocks were a little stiff on coming back into work but I have not had them X-rayed and therefore I feel he is more suited to jumping up to 80cm.
He hacks alone or in company and I lead other horses and ponies from him. He is great with buses and trucks coming past him but can spook at a crisp packet or a road sign, particulary on his own. This involves him going past with his eyes on stalks but I simply turn his head away from the object while he walks past.
He also crib bites and wears a collar although he keeps his weight on well. He is best suited to a home where he can live out most of the time. He can nip a little when doing rugs and tack but generally is a very sweet boy in the stable and loves fuss, attention and affection.
He turns out with mares and geldings in a herd or is happy out with one other. He is happy to be left on his own when my others go out hacking without him and does not stress in his stable being left alone but happily eats his hay.
He is only for sale as I have three others and I am struggling for time and therefore he does need a bit more fittening work as he is only in light work at the moment. That said, he would be ready to go out for some nice hacks and low level competing and he does not take long to get fit.
He is easy to clip, shoe and I travel and load him in an Equitrek trailer with no issues. He previously travelled and loaded well in a horsebox. He is not suitable for hunting.
Good trial facilities with school and showjumps and you are welcome to hack alone and in company.
No novices please. Although he is good he is still a competition type horse and I would prefer a balanced rider who is light in their hands.
Up to date with teeth, vaccinations, back and shoes. Tack available separately at an additional cost.
The vidoes are of me jumping small fences due to my nerves having not jumped for several years. They show that he is easy at the lower levels.
