Companions: Geldings

Lovely uncomplicated riding club type

Ref #: 360849
£3,500
  • Thoroughbred
  • Bay
  • Gelding
  • 5 years
  • 16.1 hands

Lovely TB gelding approx 16.1HH rising 6yo dark bay. BB has recently retired sound from racing so is ROR eligible. He is such a sweet, genuine and laid back lad.

He would be absolutely ideal as a happy hacker or low level riding club horse or just someone’s best friend with his outstanding temperament. He’s got so much love to give. Someone who just wants a nice easy going, straight forward horse to enjoy life with.

He started his retraining 8 weeks ago and already works very nicely in the arena, he’s green and unbalanced balanced when he’s not sure what you’re asking but he enjoys it. Hes really enjoying his jumping and has been to arena hires, pole rallies and group jump clinics.

Always behaves impeccably at different venues and is just incredibly easy to do anything with. Does not need to be ridden every day and is perfect to hack alone or in company, we have ridden him straight down main roads and he’s not been bothered at big Lorrie’s etc. He is very polite in big open spaces and happily walks, trots and canters in big fields.

He’s great to shoe, box, catch, travel etc. BB is more woah than go, hence not wanting to be a race horse, so he would suit most people if they are willing to finish off his retraining, he is obviously not a ready made riding horse 8 weeks out of retraining…. Having said that he basically just needs more miles on the clock to gain a bit of experience, the sensible brain and level headedness is already there!

Based near Badminton

07888 675407 call or whatsapp only!

Has recently passed a 5 stage vetting but buyer pulled out as he has a non progressive scar on right eye. So he’s priced to sell for a hassle free quick sale as livery fees are now costing more than his price tag. He’s on sales livery, still owned by breeder/trainer so full history known!

Chester is a charming and inquisitive young cob looking for his perfect home. Transferred from another charity, he has recently been castrated and is settling in well.

This adorable youngster is friendly to catch and leads well, though he is still unbalanced with his feet due to his age, so he will need consistent training in this area. He enjoys a good groom and has been well behaved for initial checks with both the vet and farrier.

Chester is looking for a home as a companion initially, with the potential to become a ridden pony in the future. He is happy living out 24/7 but could also be part stabled with company. Due to his age, he has so far shared a stable with a friend and would thrive in a home where he has equine companionship.

Dubarry is a handsome yearling cob gelding who is still finding his feet in the centre, but he’s growing in confidence every day. He may be a little unsure at first, but once he gets to know you, he enjoys a good scratch on the neck before having his headcollar put on.

For his age, Dubarry is doing brilliantly with his leading and general handling. He’s beginning to relax during grooming sessions and is making great progress with having his feet picked out. He responds well to short, positive training sessions and enjoys learning new things at his own pace.

Currently, Dubarry shares a stable with another yearling due to his size and age. As he matures, he will need a slow and gentle introduction to stabling alone when he moves to his new home. He’s due to see the farrier unsedated soon, and with his recent castration, he’s ready to live alongside geldings. In about six months, he could be introduced to mares.

Dubarry is looking for a home as a future project pony, and with the right training, he has the potential to become a fantastic lead rein pony for small children. If you're searching for a rewarding youngster to bring on, Dubarry could be the perfect match!
