Merry is a sweet little mare. Not slow but not sharp with a nice mouth.

She has hacked alone and in company.she has been in large group rides and doesn’t get fizzy- happy for others to gallop past or go ahead. Ok in most traffic.

Merry works nicely in an outline in all 3 paces and enjoys schooling

She has done a little Sj and xc schooling and enjoys this too.

Good to catch load farrier.

She is on a pre passport .

Excellent temperament, easy to manage, very fertile and offspring can be seen.

This boy knows his job and has fantastic breeding lines. He has been in the same home since he was a youngster.

He has covered in hand/naturally but we expect he would also be easy to collect semen from the side of a mare for AI if need be.

He may suit a stud who wish to introduce new lines to their own mares and have the opportunity to stand him to outside mares also.

Experienced home sought with contract and terms to be agreed.

Lease fee to be agreed.

Flame is an absolute dream horse with a heart of gold. You absolutely will not find a better horse for a small lady amateur or teen.

I bought Flame as an unbacked three year old and have slowly and carefully brought him on, taking him on countless adventures and allowing him to grow and mature at his own pace. He is an unregistered Spanish horse so not technically PRE but he has fabulous morphology and movement and is an exemplary type with perfect hooves.

The reason for needing to rehome Flame is that we are moving our family to Texas next year for my husband’s business and in the midst of this, we’ve been given notice on our property, meaning I am having to close my business. The logistical and financial challenges we face because of this have led me to look for options for my horses. I was never planning to sell Flame, he is not the kind of horse that gets sold, he truly is one in a billion.

Because of the uncertainty of our situation, I would consider either selling or leasing him to the best possible person and situation. His future and happiness is the most important thing.

If I were to lease him it would be for 2-5 years and my intention would be to import him to America once we were settled. Hence I would be open to a lease situation with someone who couldn’t commit to a horse long term but would be in a position to add to his training in that time and look after him as their own. For example a serious young rider who wanted a horse for a couple of years before going to university would be perfect. I wouldn’t lease him to anyone who would want him forever but couldn’t afford to buy him as this wouldn’t be fair. I’m not interested in doing a lease to buy.

The price I would ask to lease would be £250 per month. The lessee would be responsible for all care. If the lessee was Hertfordshire based this would be a huge bonus as Flame already has a wonderful sharer who loves him, is extremely experienced and happy to financially contribute. Sadly she can’t take him full time but would love to continue sharing 2-3 days a week.

If it turns out that the best person for him is only interested in buying him, I would be open to this. His happiness is priority. However that person would have to be extremely experienced, knowledgeable, preferably with knowledge of the breed, and very grounded and confident in their ridden skill. Flame is on the whole safe when ridden consistently by confident and competent riders but would become spooky and unrideable quit quickly if his main rider was nervous and not able to deal with his less confident moments.

With regards to his price, he is advertised for a lot less than he would otherwise be worth as he does have a heart murmur and arrhythmia, this has been fully investigated and although the heart specialist couldn’t give a conclusive diagnosis, they said it is unlikely to ever affect him because he has never had any clinical signs. Ie. We only know he has it from listening to his heart, he has never shown any signs of weakness, fatigue or illness of any sort. He has never been lame or unwell in any way, aside from this, his veterinary history is clean as a whistle.

It is worth noting that selling him would be my second choice and I have come up with a price that I think is very fair based on all of his qualities with his heart defect in mind, hence I won’t be entertaining any lower offers. I believe I’m asking around half of what he’d be worth without the murmur and arrhythmia.

Flame has done only a little bit of competition, because my interests lie in connection and good horsemanship rather than competition, but he has been out to a good few local dressage and jumping competitions and a lot of clinics, fun rides, beach rides and has done some cross country fences out hacking. He can be a little bit of a handful in a new and scary environments but he is getting more confident every year and he is very genuine and never explosive or panicky. He takes a lot of confidence from his human so would never run from a problem if he knew he could trust his person. He is not particularly spooky these days but I can’t say he would stay this way if he was with a nervous rider, hence I am only looking for a confident, experienced and competent person for him.

My main interests lie in classical dressage and liberty horsemanship. Hence Flame has a strong dressage foundation including all lateral work, half pass, shoulder in, in walk trot and canter. Walk to canter, canter to walk and can do a flying change. He has a strong propensity for collection. We have done a fair bit of jumping for fun. He has jumped a single jump with rider 1.20m, loose 1.40m and has competed in jumping shows up to 90cm. He has great ground work skills, very easy to join up with and will follow you around like a puppy he would be amazing for someone serious about liberty. He has also begun learning Spanish walk. If Flame doesn’t know how to do something, it’s because I haven’t had time to teach him. He is an extremely fast learner and is one of the most talented and intelligent horses I have ever worked with.

Flame will be your absolute best friend, partner in crime and love of your life. He’s wonderful with children, my five year old learned to canter on him, and he will stand for hours being groomed and fussed over.

Only very serious enquiries for this precious boy please, he means the world to me and it’s a sensitive situation. Please text of WhatsApp to arrange a time to speak. His videos are all uploaded on this ad. I have countless more on instagram @uppgrade.equestrian
